As a Christian, I love Israel, I admire and sympathize with the Jewish people. The Bible instructs us to love and pray for Israel and I am very fond for this instruction. I feel sad for the suffering Jews endured throughout history especially the holocaust. But truth be said, a lot of Israel’s actions make me ire. As a Rwandan, Israel’s unconditional support for a dictatorial regime of Paul Kagame make me sick to my stomach.
To add salt to injury, Israel is about to deport refugees to Rwanda. First, you would thought that people who faced discrimination would be welcoming and sympathetic to those in need. Israel as a racist state is a chock to me.
Second, Rwanda is a poor, overpopulated, politically and racially torn-apart country. Today, Rwanda has refugees all over the world. How is it that a country that cannot take care of its own citizen will be able to accommodate 40,000 people? Israel has more means to take care of these people. And why can’t these poor refugees be sent back home instead to Rwanda? Their original countries are probably bigger and better than Rwanda. I am all about helping people but Rwanda has no capacity to accommodate these refugees.
When will the international community realize that Rwanda is being run by a pathological liar whose name is Paul Kagame, who only cares about his image abroad and his family’s bank accounts? Israel should work with the UN and the international community and find a suitable solution to the problem of those refugees instead of dumping them in Rwanda where they will suffer. I do not know what Kagame lied to Mr Netanyahu, but let me tell you about the situation in Rwanda as of now.
Rwanda is in a political crisis, there is no freedom of speech, no freedom of assembly, those who criticize the government if the are not killed, they are sent to jail. The latest case is Diane Rwigara who is being tried pretty much for nothing. Her unique sin is that she tried to run and oppose dictator Paul Kagame.
Besides the political quagmire Rwanda is in, there is in Rwanda a shortage of food, jobs are scarce, RWANDA IS NO PLACE TO SETTLE REFUGEES, RWANDANS ARE THEMSELVES BEGGING THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY INCLUDING ISRAEL TO STOP LOOKING THE OTHER WAY AND HELP US GET RID OF DICTATOR KAGAME AND HIS EVIL REGIME.
